The new black rubberized SDV97AM dual screen portable dvd player is based on
the amazing build quality that is featured on all the Nextbase products... but
this pack doesn't just feature superb build quality but Nextbase have integrated
superb features to make this pack unbeatable and streets above the competition.
The pack features one full blown portable DVD player with screen combined with
a secondary LCD screen that links in to the primary display so that it shows
whatever is running on the primary display. The exterior of the players are coated in a black rubberized paint that really makes the players stand out from the crowd. Built in to the main player is
an integrated USB port so that you can plug in your USB key or external hard
disk drive (USB devices must be OTG 'on the go' compliant) to view your photos,
movies etc. With built in DivX MPEG4 support this is ideal for people who have
backed up their movies to CDs/DVDs or downloaded movies or programmes from divx.com.
 Features
that take this set further than it's competitors are the inbuilt infra red transmitter
which means you can easily and cheaply add on wireless headphones (see accessories
section below) so that you no longer have to worry about a spiders web of cables,
the secondary player has a simple, neat and clean single cable that connects
to the primary player that deals with audio, video and power allowing the secondary
screen to run from whatever power source the primary player is running on be
it mains, car adapter or battery (unit is powered by 6 * AA rechargeable 2300
mAH batteries - not included)... (where as most other similar players need a
cable for audio, a cable for video and another cable that plugs in to the car
cigarette lighter or mains for power and which means the secondary screen is
useless if you dont have a mains plug or are in the car).
Build quality on all the Nextbase players is second to none which is why the
manufacturer is happy to back their players up with a 2 year warranty rather
than a single year and have created a central UK based service centre to quickly
and easily deal with any problems that you might have.
Both screens come with headrest mounting cases for easy and quick fitting of
the screens straight on the the rear of your car headrests whilst your travelling
and are designed so that it is a simple and quick job to change discs with out
having to take the players down from the headrest.
As standard there are 2 headphone jacks available to use with the players for
two sets of headphones... of course both screens have stereo speakers in built
in to them also. If you want to plug further wired headphones in to the players
simply plug a headphone splitter jack plug in to one of the headphone ports
and that will allow you to plug 2 sets of headphones in to one jack (see accessories
section below for Headphone Splitter Jack).
When you're not travelling out and about you can of course plug your primary
portable DVD player straight in to your TV at home or in the hotel and use it
as a standard DVD player.
For further use you can plug in one of our games pad listed in the accessories
section below to turn your screens in to games machines. Ideal for getting those
extra few hours of useage!
And now you can also use the digital TV module (supplied below in the accessories
section) to plug in to one of the screens to watch freeview TV! (Please be aware
the TV tuner module only plugs in to one screen and works on one screen at a

| When ordered they were in Stock but infact they were out of stock. Email followed the next day buy their customer support explaining when stock was to arrive. I was kept in the loop and delivery was spot on when stated. Shame about the package when it arrived - was slighly dented ..... but the carry case it comes in protected it ok.
About the product. The only thing missing from this description is the SD/MMC/ms card slot. This is a Nextbase SDV97-AM. On the Nextbase website .com and Europe both state that this package comes with reader but they are slightly different marks (SDV97 and SDV97-B). This is no great loss for me.
As for the package --- Screens and sound are clear and sharp - fully adjustable.
As the list shows ---- only one power supply is needed to power both these screens. The AVP takes the power / audio / video over to the 2nd screen. There are 2 headrest mounts - both velcro around the headrest. The headrest side has a sponge backing and the other just has the mount for the screen. This slides down the back and has a quick release button at the top. So their are no velcro straps or bag holders to get in the way.
Also their are 2x in-ear headphone sets supplied. The Main screen has a built-in IR transmitter. I have not tested this yet.
For the Divx side --- I have tried a few DVD(+)RW's in this to see how this performs and it has played nearly everything I have thrown at it so far. I am sure there will be firmware updates in the future on the Nextbase website (currently there isnt).
This player also is shock proof (which some of the other players dont have) - so handy if your car is on a bumpy road. (Not mentioned on the decription).
All in all --- a neat system package, with only 2 cables min to setup for use - so not many cables to get in the way. Great features built in (apart for the SD/MMC/MS slot missing) and supports Divx playback.
I would recommend this. A great addition to my Car.

| Service from 3 wise monkeys was spot on. Parcel arrived on time in good condition. Haven't 'road' tested it yet in the car but have tried it out at home to make sure everything was working ok. First impression is that this DVD player is top quality! Picture great, sound great and set up is easy. Would highly recommend it! |

| After searching for one of these on the high street I was keen to find someone who was able to give me some real information about them. I found the email option really quick (sometimes returned within fifteen minutes) useful and personal. My order was with me within 24 hours and it was up and running within a few minutes. The picture is very good, the boxes look stronger than others I saw, and the set up quick and easy. I would note that the ear plugs supplied aren't suitable for children, they don't stay in their ears. We need to get some over the head ones for this. Sound was good enough to be heard without them even over the car noise.

| Had a lot of questions prior to order, all answered very quickly and accurately. Ordered next day delivery -it did. Used on long car journey to Scotland with our 2 year old twins kept them riveted for the long haul - only disadvantage was that I did not want to use headphones with the little ones so can now recite bob the builder off by heart! Pre-recorded other programmes at home on to DVD R and RW all worked fine. Screen quality compared to others I looked at is excellent. |

| Firstly, the service I have received from 3wisemonkeys is second to none. This is my first purchase form an internet based suppler and I can highly recommend them. I had a question about the unit so I filled out the relevant product question and received an answer the following day. The units came on the day stated.
Secondly, I did a lot of research before buying a twin screen DVD player for my car. There are several main players on the market and at first I was a little dubious about buying this unit. After letting the kids loose on them, in the back of the car, I know I made the right choice. The units and quick and easy to setup and you can leave the mounting on the headrest by quickly unclipping just the screens (they just slide on and off). One word of warning. I own a Mazda and the top of the headrest is 7 inches wide, any less and you may have a problem wrapping the Velcro ties over the top. The screen displays are excellent and sound quality is good (brilliant through the supplied earphones). Everything comes pre-packed in the carry case ready for use. Recommendation 11 out of 10.

| SO HAPPY that I bought this item.
This item is well worth it's price tag. The quality of picture and sound is more than adequate and it's used with minimum cables for the car. Everything looks and feels like quality, and the remote control is super-slim. Having never heard of 'Nextbase' before I was unsure about parting with the cash, but I really needed a quality in-car dual screen player to entertain the kids, on our long journeys to & from Germany. Both headrests come with pads (an earlier review said they didn't) and the carry case is well padded.
I bought this, along with two wireless headphones and they work together like a treat.
I am in the forces and I do a lot of travelling. I know that next month when I visit my sisters, they will want one for their kids.
I have nothing negative to say about this product, or the services of 3 wise monkeys.
I ordered it at 15:15 hrs on Wednesday and it arrived, hand delivered by courier at 09:40 hrs on Friday (less than 2 days)

| Purchased the Nextbase SDv97Am after buying a twinsystem from Argos.The first system,the screen stopped working,the second kept jumping as you went over a bump.There was no third,it was money back time.My brother already had a nextbase system and praised it,so I took the plunge as well.I was not disapointed,the system is excelent,clear screens,top build quality,the bag they come in is excelent...in fact the whole dam thing is the dogs !!....as the saying go's....you only get what you pay for!!...and this is true here!!....also 3wise monkeys service was excelent and customer service faultless(3 cheers for Amy!!...she knows her job!!) |

| Ordered the above and actually read the book first(I'm really old fashioned). Nice delivery and feel-good payment system.Unfortunately, the book is a bit brief and I was not having any luck. Phoned the number given but as it Saturday morning, I did'nt expect to speak to anyone. I was surprised when I got a call from a mobile number. A very nice chap solved my problems without once using the words "plonker moron" or any other epithets.3WM are now on my list of good companies to deal with. Thanks a Lot-Dave. |

| I had done a some research on few units but decided on this product due to 3wm's impartial advice and excellent 'blurb', and what a cracking set this is. Picture quality is great, sound is good, build quality is excellent, not too keen on the 'clicky' buttons though (just use remote). Impressed with the 3-in-1 wire to link the extra screen, good length as well. Cool accessory bag to keep everything neat and protected. Added wireless headphones make it a steal at this price!

| Last year I borrowed a twin screen DVD for a trip to France and found it invaluable in keeping my children occupied for the long car journeys. However I was dubious about the durability of this machine. Having decided to buy my own I searched all the usual retailers (Argos, Currys etc) but came up with the same machines time and time again. I stumbled upon 3wisemonkeys and the Nextbase machines and was suitably impressed by the reviews to take the plunge and buy one. The service from 3wisemonkeys was excellent and delivery was as promised (I would use them again). I used the Nextbase DVD on a trip to Devon last week and found them to be excellent. They have a good build quality, are easy to use and the picture is very good. I invested in the infra-red headphones and I can highly recommend this option. The children can listen to their films while my wife and I could have the cd or radio on without any of us objecting to the other's choice. The sound quality is very good too. Overall I am very satisfied with the machines and the service provided by 3wisemonkeys. |
